Last night yet another horrible event happened. Two people with plans, hopes and dreams were suddenly taken from this world. A gentleman who apparently did not care for his own life, took the lives of two individuals, and injured several more.
If you have read your Bible, it clearly tells us that things are going to only get worse. The closer we get to Jesus coming again, the harder life is going to get. Mass murders are happening, our way of life is under attack, people of faith in America are starting to understand what their brothers and sisters around the world have been feeling for decades. And as bad as things seem right now, it is only going to get worse.
For those who are not saved, this could all be very depressing. But for believers, we are not alone. We have a God who loves us and cares for us. And His word is present to give us strength. Below are some versus of encouragement in these hard times.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me. Psalm 86:7
This God–his way is perfect;the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him. Psalm 18:30
Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. John 14:1
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act. Psalm 37:5
