Standing Firm

I did things a bit differently this morning. My children are both at the table right now, eating some food. Abigail is enjoying her breakfast and singing simple children songs. Her brother is snacking on some yogurt drops, he will eat breakfast once we are at school. Normally I would allow them to play around the house, but this morning I need to be centered and focused. Today is not going to be an easy day, there is much to do, and some of it will be hard. I wanted to go into this day focused on my Lord.

So I found my book of 1 minute prayers for busy moms. Very fitting for this morning. The verse I read (actually the 3rd) is this:

Therefore, my dear bothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
1 Corinthians 15:58

The commentary attached to it states this, "You call me to stand firm in my belief, my understanding of truth. Please help me when I hedge slightly left or right of honesty, integrity, and love."

The stand firm in my belief part really calls to me. This is the 3rd instance in 24 hours where I am being called out to know what I believe. I feel like I need to know what I believe because I am going to be held to account for it.

More to come tonight on this subject!
