Rewarding Sin in our Fallen World

Isaiah 5:20King James Version (KJV)
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Proverbs 14:12King James Version (KJV)
12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Romans 1:25King James Version (KJV)
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Tonight on national television there is an individual who will be receiving an award for courage because they changed their gender.

Let that sink in. It is apparently courageous to change your gender.

My first issue with this fact is that to me this a slap in the face of God. I believe that God does not make mistakes. If He makes mistakes it means that He isn't God. So if God made you a man, you are a man. If He made you a woman, you got it (!), you are a woman.

Hmmm, according to the dictionary courage is doing something that frightens you. So by this standard, the gentleman who changed his gender was frightened to do so but did it anyway? The sinful world always contradicts itself. Bruce Jenner is not courageous and the award he is getting tonight is beyond ridiculous, I even will dare to call it stupid.

I stopped watching award shows and things like that well over a decade ago. In fact until the television started blasting that Bruce Jenner was getting this award, I am pretty sure I had not heard of the Epsy's.

When I think of courage I think of:
  • those who enlisted in the armed forces underage for WWI and WWII
  • the youth who wanted to enlist after 9/11 even though they knew they would be going to war
  • Rosa Parks who did not give up her seat on the bus
  • Martin Luther King, Jr. who walked to Selma
  • the individuals spreading the gospel in China and North Korea
  • those who are trying to give girls an education in Muslim dominated countries
  • the people who are fighting against the wrongs that our government is orchestrating - abortion for example.
Changing your gender is no where on that list. But our society says that it is courageous. I feel bad for Mr. Jenner. I feel that one day soon he is going to wake up and regret what he has done, and I pray that when that happens he has someone around him who can guide him to the truth.
